Semantics of dream motive in K. S. Petrov-Vodkin’s work
Abstract
In given article the author considers a dream motive in K. S. Petrov-Vodkin’s work “Dream” (1910). Special attention is drawn both to art criticism and philosophical interpretation of symbols in the given work, as well as to religious and philosophical concept of R. V. Ivanov-Razumnik of opposition between dream and reality. In addition it considers semantics of the dream motive on the example of such works by K. S. Petrov-Vodkin as “1918 in Petrograd” (1920), “The sleeping child” (1924), “Morning in the nursery” (1925), “The first demonstration (Woker’s family in anniversary of the October revolution)” (1927) and “The year 1919. Alarm” (1934) etc.
