The splendid Monsieur Véron
Abstract
The article is devoted to Louis Veron, the director of the Paris Opera (1831–1835). During his management the theatre became a financially successful institution and turned into one of the main sights of Europe. Veron’s work is considered in the context of social cataclysm in the French society after the July revolution of 1830.
