Traditions of plein air theatre productions at the court of Louis the XIVth
Abstract
The article discusses the phenomenon of plein air theatre productions in France at the court of Louis the XIVth. It represents the role of such plays in development context of new park style creation. The research is carried out on the examples of great court festivals. The final conclusions of the article try to explain why the theater building was not created at the Versailles earlier than at the times of great-grandson of Sun King Louis the XVth, although the XIVth century was a period when France gave the world culture such Titans of drama and poetry as Moliere, Racine and Boileau.
