The education of a designer: from a technology to the methodology
Abstract
The task of the design education is not merely to use the technology, but to suggest a methodology of constructing the intellectual design product. This methodology is named a «semiotic discoursive modeling» and well represented in the following scheme: the concept-code arrange semiotic resources and creates a semiotic situation that suggests a metaphor; a topic clarify a semiotic model; then the practices of contextualization open up the horizons for continuous signification and resignification of a semiotic model. A designer must be able to work in the creative group, so communicative competences are another important task to be implemented in design education.
