Художественные журналы эпохи формирования постмодернизма (второй половины 1970-х): проблема влияния на процессы в искусстве. «October»

Рассмотрена общая проблема влияния художественных журналов на процессы в искусстве ХХ в. и возможность построения исходя из этого типологии изданий. Сформулированы общие характеристики «журнала влияния» на материале второй половины ХХ в. Модель такого типа рассмотрена на примере журнала «Artforum», наиболее авторитетного издания второй половины 1960-х и первой половины 1970-х годов, опыт которого (положительный и отрицательный) использован при формировании издательской политики журнала «October». Из истории журнала «October» — главного издания о современном искусстве последних четырех десятилетий — выбран ранний этап, этап становления, конец 1970-х годов (когда его влияние было максимальным). Формирование журнала рассматривается с разных точек зрения. Первый сюжет, связанный с именем Розалинд Краусс, — искусство и искусствоведческие методологии 1960-х годов, наследие журнала «Artforum». Второй сюжет, представленный Аннетт Майклсон, отсылает к семиотике «французской теории» и проблематике «политического». Третий сюжет построен вокруг Дугласа Кримпа и его кураторского проекта, выставки «Pictures» — нового искусства (постмодернизм второй половины 1970-х, его специфика, связь с «фотографическим» и постмедиальной природой этого «фотографического») и методологии его описания. Соединение нового искусства с журналом нового типа (создающим аппарат для его методологического осмысления) рождает ситуацию, позволяющую говорить о начале новой эпохи, эпохи постмодернизма, специфического варианта концептуального искусства, где граница между собственно искусством и его критическим и теоретическим осмыслением почти исчезает. Анализ этой ситуации позволяет понять причины влиятельности журнала.
