Theater posters by Nicolay Pavlovich Akimov: stylistic and communicative features of the artistic form. On the history of the Leningrad school of graphics
Abstract
The author investigates the artistic and expressive features of poster design by Nicolay Pavlovich Akimov (1901–1968), an art director-in-chief and stage director of the Leningrad Comedy Theatre (1935–1949, 1956–1968). The master’s creative work is considered as one of the most remarkable phenomenon of the Leningrad school of theatre poster and, in whole, Russian artistic culture of 1920’s — 1960’s.
