Musical form and photography: system of language and the structure of meaning
Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the principles of creation of sense within the visual structures, in the musical form and in the system of language. Images, music and language environment reveal the different approaches to the creation of meaning. In the same time, their informative systems detect the same principles of semantic space. The article examines the music-conceptions of Boulez, Webern, Cage and Schoenberg — they are correlated with the theories of image, language and values by Condillac, de Saussure, Heidegger, Kristeva and Derrida. Particular attention is paid to the idea of exchange as a central mechanism for determining the meaning in each art form. The text analyzes the construction of sign and its peculiarities in music, photography and words; it examines the aspects of formation of sense in musical forms, visual systems and verbal order. The article considers the categories of content, exchange and values that allows to adjust the emphasis in the theory of meaning, signified and language.
