Humanist? Modernist? Vitalist? The role of Henry Moore in the history of modern sculpture. Part II. “The sacred cow of the European art of the XX century”
Abstract
The article discusses the issues of reassessing the role of British sculptor Henry Moore in the art history of the XX century. Recent exhibition projects on Moore and publications in the catalogs, magazines and newspapers provides grounds to evaluate his works form new perspectives. The final conclusion of the article is that the artist`s works are universal and can not be characterized in terms of one style. More over it outlines some areas for further researches.
