De Saint Lambert and de Brossard: unknown and known
Abstract
The article is dedicated to famous treatises on harpsichord playing by de Saint Lambert and to the first dictionary on music by Sébastien de Brossard including its first edition (1701). The authors revealed objective evidences that the first edition of de Saint Lambert’s treatise on accompaniment was published in Amsterdam before 1700. The work is founded on historical documents and materials, some of which were earlier not fully considered and examined by Russian and foreign scientists.
